Pepperoni Sausage Pizza

I love pizza, and I am not one of those weirdos who puts restrictions on what can go on a pizza. I am not one of those people who thinks pineapple on pizza is a sin. Put whatever you want on your pizza, it’s the perfect food vehicle for that. But every once in a while, I want a simple regular pie. A good crispy, thin crust, a herbaceous sauce, and just a couple of toppings. The problem with a lot of pizza places is they overload the toppings and the crust gets floppy. I like a good, crisp sturdy crust. Ramble Pizza had all the basic elements of a decent pizza without any gimmicks. Just a good, solid pie.

The menu is limited, but it allows the truck to focus on a few items and do them really well. My group was feeling carnivorous, so we ordered a pepperoni and sausage pie. Other options included slices of plain, sausage, mushroom, or pepperoni, a special pizza with ricotta, gorgonzola, and kalamata olives. My two-topping pizza was $20.

Despite being quite busy, we were given table service, starting with this tray of condiments being delivered to where we were sitting, along with plates and napkins.

The pizza arrived hot and tasty, with stringy cheese and just the right amount of sauce. The sauce was more herby than sweet. The dough was slightly floppy but enough to hold its structure and the sausage and pepperoni were flavorful and just a tad greasy. Our pizza fed three people and we were all full. Pizza always goes great with beer, and I enjoyed my Eraserhood IPA as usual.
