LoveCity

While I am a lover of Thai food, I am not very well-versed on Laos cuisine, so I was excited to hear that Flaming Basil was making an appearance at what is becoming my favorite bar in Philadelphia, that is, Love City Brewing Company. We sat down with our beer and perused the menu and decided to order a sampling of a couple appetizers and a couple entrees to see what they had to offer. Everything we tried was delicious!

For the appetizers, we chose the grilled chicken skewers and crispy spring rolls. Both came with a sweet chili dipping sauce. The chicken was grilled perfectly and seasoned well and the crispy spring rolls were crunchy and filled with cabbage and other veggies.

For entrees, I selected the Lemongrass Beef and my husband ordered the Spicy Red Curry. I tasted his curry and it was indeed spicy and full of flavor, the red curry chicken mixed with assorted veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snap peas, and onions. My husband said he wished it was spicier, but he is always wanting everything spicier and for me it had just the right amount of kick.

The beef in my entree was super tender, and the accompanied with red, green, and yellow bell peppers, and onions. Garnished with scallions, this dish was incredible and I would definitely order it again. After we finished eating, my husband noticed the Fried Tempura Shrimp on the menu and was already making plans to order it if we encounter the truck again.
