With a lunch special of $6 for a sandwich, fries, and a soda, I thought, this is one of the best deals on campus. Why haven’t I tried this before? The truth is, I haven’t heard much about this truck, so I decided to check it out.

Location: On 12th and Norris Streets (across from the College of Engineering)

Pay: Credit or Cash

Cuisine:  Sandwiches, wraps, and fries

What I tried: Zesty Chicken sandwich combo, Chicken Parmesan sandwich

Delivery: No

Phone: 856-701-7572

For my first visit, the combo I chose included a six-inch sandwich, fries, and a soda. I decided to try the Zesty Crispy Chicken sandwich combo. I thought this might be some kind of chicken sandwich with some Italian dressing or something like that. I was totally wrong. It had what tasted kind of like Tabasco sauce on it. ALL OVER IT. Soaked in the bread, lettuce, and smothered all over the crispy chicken.

Zesty

I am not a huge fan of Tabasco, so this was not my favorite thing. I did enjoy the chicken and the Provolone. The portion of fries was large, but they were a bit disappointing, steak fries being my least favorite type of fries. They are always a bit soggy and not crispy enough. I did eat them, mostly because I was hungry, but a lot of them got thrown away. Not a great first impression, but I went back a second time to see what else they had.

On my second visit, I was planning on ordering the Meatball Parmesan but then I remembered I was planning to have meatballs for dinner. I instead ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich and as I was waiting I realized it would probably be the same chicken as last time. I was okay with this since I liked the chicken, but it may have been better to order a different sandwich for this review. Anyhow, it was too late. This time I skipped the fries, and ordered a foot long. This thing was humongous!

The sandwich was pretty good, and very filling. The sauce was perfect, the sandwich crispy, the cheese melty, and it was not oversauced. For $6 this is a great sandwich and I am excited to go back and try the meatballs. I’ll skip the fries.

They have an excellent selection of drinks and also a breakfast menu including pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. Vegetarian selections include a grilled veggie sandwich, a eggplant parmesan sandwich, and a buffalo eggplant parmesan sandwich. They also have a breakfast sandwich with egg, mushrooms, onions, and peppers.

Overall, I didn’t find this truck to be amazing, or one that I will rave about, but it is a great truck for days I’m a bit short on cash and want a filling meal. Check out the full menu below (click on photos to enlarge).
