I took a hiatus from this blog over the summer because a lot of the trucks were closed, but the fall semester has commenced with a few changes in locations for the trucks. Temple Now, the weekly publication put out by the university, just released an interactive food truck map, even accessible by mobile. I will be using this new tool to try out the many trucks I have yet to visit!

The map can be seen at this link: https://news.temple.edu/news/2016-08-31/campus-food-trucks-relocated

The Insomnia cookie truck appears to have closed in favor of a brick & mortar store on Cecil B. Moore and Broad Street, sandwiched between the (not yet opened) Honeygrow and the Temple Gear clothing store. No more cookies to tempt me outside of the Student Center.

Over the summer I’ve been frequenting Blaze Pizza, Crisp Kitchen (a sort of Honeygrow knockoff), Pot Belly Sandwiches, City Pizza, and Qdoba. They are not “mobile munchies” but definitely worth a try. Draught Horse is also undergoing a remodel, as well as Saxby’s coffee on Liacouras Walk. The latter now offers cold brew selections, but lately they have tended to run out by the afternoon.

I am thinking of adding a section to this blog that reviews non-mobile munches, as I’ve been asked by some of my readers. They claim that they still qualify as “mobile” since they are eaten on the go. I think that’s a bit of a stretch, but I can maybe tag them as “non-mobile” when I run out of trucks to visit? What are your thoughts…? Leave a comment or send me a message!
