I was told about this truck by several of my readers as well as friends, so I have been on the lookout for them for some time now, and finally caught up with them this month at The Porch. I love that this truck has so many different items and combo platters where you can try so many of them at once! It is also a very popular truck, there was a line but it was definitely worth the wait.

I have been chasing this truck down since I heard it existed. I am not sure why our schedules never aligned until this glorious day, but it was definitely worth the wait. The Jungle Curry with fried chicken in the above photo passed my husband’s spiciness test. There were many tasty sounding items on their menu; it made the decision hard on both of us. And while the Crab Red Curry caught my eye, I ended up settling on the Lemongrass Coconut Curry with pork meatballs, and a couple of bao buns to start.

I have been trying to catch up with this cute little banana whip truck for some time now. I was intrigued by the concept: a completely vegan “ice cream” made completely from bananas, with tons of fun topping combinations. Boasting a healthy and delicious alternative, the owner (?) in the truck was dressed in a tie-dye shirt that read, “This is Bananas! No seriously, it’s just bananas.” He had some fun guitar jams drifting out of his truck while he worked non-stop to help the long line of patrons waiting for their sweet treats. A newcomer in the Temple food truck scene, Taste of India has become a popular addition to the campus. Taste of India opened in Spring 2018 and attracts hungry lunch-goers with its aromas of curries and spices. Lately, there is always a line, which is always a great sign for a food truck.
Rice platters include your choice of chicken or one of many veggies, rice, yogurt, chutney, and a salad. (Be sure to specify if you want the yogurt and what kind of chutney you want). Combo platters include your choice of main dish with naan (flatbread), papad (a thin and crispy seasoned dough), yogurt, chutney, salad, and a soda. They also offer rotating specials from day to day.
