Royal Zarasa is a labor of love launched by Terrance and Tiffany Hopkins-Bey in February 2018 as a means to share Tiffany’s love of comfort food. With dishes like BBQ brisket, shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles, salmon slaw sandwiches, and chicken wings, Royal Zarasa’s southern inspired menu made it hard to decide on what to have for dinner as we visited Love City Brewing.

Double Trouble Waffles & French Toast has been in business for about a year and I caught up with them on a chilly Sunday morning in Mt. Airy. With such an extensive menu, it was hard to make a decision! My husband and I were both in the mood for waffles (although next time around I plan to try the french toast, after looking at their Instagram photos!). The waffle sandwiches also sounded and looked delightful!

Foolish Waffles began their food truck journey in 2014 and I tried them at the Chestnut Hill Farmer’s Market, way before I started writing this blog. I recall thinking that they had something special, something that every food truck should strive for: a product that had fresh ingredients, creative ideas for specials, and friendly workers who cared about putting out great food. Since they opened, they have won several awards, including a Philadelphia Magazine 2014 Best of Philly award, 2015 Vendy Award, the Uproxx 2017 AND 2018 Best Food Truck in Pennsylvania award, one of the 101 Best Food Trucks in America by The Daily Meal, and the 2018 list of Top Food Trucks by Philadelphia Magazine.
